HAPLD FRIENDS FOUNDATION

The HAPLD Friends Foundation members met in the Program Room of the library on Friday, October 17, 2014. Those in attendance were:

President, Genevieve Hochwarter, called the meeting to order at 11:00. Everyone introduced themselves. New members were welcomed.
September Meeting Minutes
The September Secretary’s report was read. Pat Cornwell moved to accept the minutes, Connie Corwin seconded and motion carried.
Sandy Cooper gave the treasurer’s report which shows a September 30th balance of $19,470.67. The main source of income in September was from Corner Book sales and the Fall Fest Book Sale. Reta Stohs moved to accept the Treasurer’s report, Diane Benson seconded and the motion carried. Martha thanked everyone responsible for the work put into making the report easy to understand.
The archeologist/architect speaker on October 2 was interesting and engaging and he is willing to come back next year. The profit from the evening cleared $1000. A hundred were in attendance.
The work done by the volunteers is appreciated. Profits from the evening: tips, $83.50; 50/50 raffle, $48.00; percentage of sales, about $300.
We have three hundred silver ornaments of the Library. There is a display tree on the counter behind the Information desk. The ornaments may be purchased at the Circulation Desk for $15.00 and will also be on sale at the November Book Sale, Holiday happening, Anniversary celebration.
Over 60 tickets have been sold for the Thursday, November 6 English Tea at Boulder Ridge Country Club.
It is time to renew membership in the Huntley Library Friends Foundation: $10.00 annual fee; $100.00 lifetime membership. Renewal can be done on the Friends website.
The next committee will be November 21, 11:30 a.m. at Genevieve’s home to assemble the baskets. Many nice donations have already been received including Bulls tickets, Restaurant coupons, and an IPAD mini. Last year we earned almost $3000.00 from the basket raffle.
Pat Cornwell moved that the meeting adjourn, Connie Corwin seconded. The meeting adjourned at 11:30.
