Friends start GoFundMe to assist library to acquire delivery van
The Friends Foundation need your help . The Friends goal is to purchase a new van for the Huntley Area Public Library. A GoFundMe has been created. This fundraiser will help with its purchase.
The current library van is a 1998 Pontiac with over 110,000 miles. Van repairs are more costly and parts are difficult to find. A “new” van is needed. The Friends prefer acquiring a used van.
The library’s van is utilized for a variety of things. The van is used for include delivering library materials to patrons who use the Library2Go service. Patrons with an illness or injury that cannot visit the library use Library2Go to have materials brought to them.
Library materials are delivered to private residences and assisted living facilities including Heritage Woods and Deer Path.
The library’s van is also used to pick up materials from the big purple book drop located at the Huntley Jewel on Rt. 47, and by staff to run errands, attend meetings and travel to special events.
