HAPLD FRIENDS FOUNDATION
General Meeting             April 19, 2019

The HAPLD Friends Foundation members met in the Library Program room.

Program
At 11:06 a.m. Pamela Kampwerth introduced Kathleen Carr from the Growing Scene, who presented “Exciting Annual Flowers: Getting Ready for Spring”.

 At 12:06, Genevieve Hochwarter called the regular meeting to order.

Director’s Report
Frank thanked the Friends for their support passing the Referendum and for funding the publicity. The Referendum passed: 4069 yes votes, 2710 no votes. The next steps will not be visible: contracts, bond rating, etc. In late December and January, the trailers will be vacated. Groundbreaking will not occur until February or March.

Secretary’s Report
Genevieve Hochwarter moved the March minutes be accepted, Pat Cornwell seconded, the motion passed.

 Treasurer’s Report
The March treasurer’s report showed a balance of $19,486.57. Genevieve Hochwarter moved the treasurer’s report be accepted, Janis Ruffino seconded, the motion passed.

 April Library Book Sale
The April Book sale was a record-setting weekend sale, $1273. Volunteers are needed for setup and working the next Book Sale, June 1 & 2. Sign-up sheets were available.

National Library Workers’ Day, April 9
The Friends provided lunch for the staff in appreciation of their continued support. The staff loved it!

 Human Race, April 28
The Friends are registered for the McHenry County Volunteer Center’s Human Race, Sunday, April 28. Supporters can run, walk and/or donate to the Huntley Library Friends Heroes.

Fundraising Breakfast, May 8
At the May 8 breakfast at Boulder Ridge County Club, R.J. Lindsey will portray R.E. Olds founder of the automobile industry. 99 tickets have been sold so far.

May 17th General Meeting
Rob Aavang will provide another Library Game Show. Election of Board members will occur at this meeting.

June 21st General Meeting, 6:30 p.m.
The June meeting will be an evening meeting. Debra Miller will be returning, portraying Louisa May Alcott.

Brain Fuse
The Library requested $3200 for Brain Fuse, a database the Friends have funded for many years. Karen Hutchings moved the funding be approved. Pat Totman seconded and the motion was approved.

Pat Cornwell moved the meeting adjourn, Karen Hutchings seconded, the meeting adjourned at 12:04 p.m.
