Meeting Minutes – February 16, 2018

HAPLD FRIENDS FOUNDATION
General Meeting        February 16, 2018

The HAPLD Friends Foundation members met in the Program Room at the Library.

Those in attendance were: Diane Benson, Diane Ghilardi, Nancy Hardy, Genevieve Hochwarter, Karen Hutchings, Stevie Massei, Janis Ruffino, Marge Smith, Reta Stohs.  Library Liaison, Pamela Kampwerth.

At 11:10 a.m. Genevieve called the meeting to order.

Board Strategic Plan
Pamela gave highlights of the Board’s Strategic Plan meeting. The 3 issues for 2018 are: increase meeting attendance; attract more volunteers; help if the library goes to referendum.

Secretary’s Report
The January minutes were reviewed. Diane moved the minutes be accepted, Reta seconded, the motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report
Diane Benson gave the treasurer’s report which showed a balance of $3495.96. Nancy moved that the report be accepted, Diane seconded, the motion carried. Stevie was thanked for completing the yearly audit.

February/Library Lovers Book Sale
The Book Sale earned $603.00.

Library Lovers/Van Fundraiser
The February drive for $1000.00 plus matching funds has been reached. Fundraising will continue until the end of February. The goal is to reach $10,000 by the end of the month. Funds received in memory of Scott Lindsey’s father have been added to the Van fund.

April Volunteer Incentive Plan
Volunteers in April will get a raffle ticket for every hour they volunteer. Two board members have donated raffle tickets and restaurant gift cards for this drawing. The drawing will occur at the April meeting.

April Fundraisers
Volunteers are needed to work the Book Sale, April 7 & 8, and Culvers night, April 16.

Growing Scene
Kathleen Carr will speak at the April 20 General Meeting.

May 9 Breakfast
Tickets for the R.J. Lindsey as Daniel Burnham slide show/talk will go on sale April 2. The Library staff has prepared a bibliography.

 Karen moved that the meeting adjourn, Stevie seconded, the motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 11:48 a.m.
