General Meeting
July 17, 2015
The HAPLD Friends Foundation members met in the Program Room of the Library, Friday, July 17, 2015.

President, Genevieve Hochwarter, called the meeting to order at 11:05, thanking everyone for coming.
Director’s Report
Leigh Ann Porsch reported for the Director. The Friends’ were thanked for funding the Help Now/Job Now programs, Staff Appreciation events, and the Summer Reading Program. Currently, there are 2,829 signed up for the Summer Reading Program.
Secretary’s Report
The June minutes were reviewed and under Treasurer’s report “that a calendar month” was corrected to “than a calendar month”. Connie Corwin moved the minutes be accepted as corrected, Pat Cornwell seconded, the motion carried. Pamela added that the agenda and minutes are posted on the Friends’ website.
Treasurer’s Report
Diane Benson gave the treasurer’s report which showed a balance as of July 15 of $16,586.57. Income was from Corner Books and sponsorship of the Mini-links. Expenses included the payment for BrainFuse and Staff Appreciation. Connie Corwin moved the report be accepted, Pat Cornwell seconded, the motion carried.
Book Sales
Reta Stohs reminded everyone that there were sign-up sheets for the August Book Sale and September’s sale at Fall Fest. The August Sale on Friday will be held in conjunction with Minilinks. The Fall Fest sale will be held at the Park District’s Cosman Center. It is a big sale and needs a lot of help setting up, selling and packing up. This year the Sunday hours will be two hours longer. High School boys will be asked to help pack up the books and tables.
Mini-links Committee
Sponsorship is up this year with four new contributors. Two of the 9 mini-links holes are being run by high school students, and the Girls’ Golf Team will be at the Beat the Pros hole.
Library Card Sign-Up Month
The Library has asked for $750-$1000 for small incentive items: thumb drives, microfiber cloth, and stickers for children. Stevie Massei moved that the Friends fund the incentive program for a sum not to exceed $1000. Marilyn Graunke seconded, and the motion passed.
Trustees’ Meeting Report
Diane Benson represented the Friends’ Board at the July Library Trustees Board Meeting. The problems with the heating and air conditioning were discussed. It was suggested that the Trustee Meeting dates be listed on the agenda’s Important Dates to Remember.
Sign-ups
Sign-up sheets were available for the August Book Sale, Minilinks and the Fall Fest Book Sale.
Diane Benson moved that the meeting adjourn, Martha Schooley seconded. The meeting adjourned at 11:40.
