HAPLD FRIENDS FOUNDATION
General Meeting March 17, 2017
The HAPLD Friends Foundation members met in the Library Program Room, Friday, March 17, 2017. Those in attendance were: Diane Becker, Diane Benson, Connie Corwin, Deanna Engelke, Nancy Hardy, Genevieve Hochwarter, Stevie Massei, Shirley Nowak, Janis Ruffino, Mary Ann Schopen, Marge Smith, Reta Stohs, Karen Zarembski, Friends Liaison, Pamela Kampwerth.
Genevieve called the meeting to order at 11:08.
Director’s Report
Pam reported that the Summer Reading Program theme is “Super Powered Summer”.
Secretary’s Report
After reviewing the minutes, Connie moved that February’s minutes be accepted, Reta seconded, the motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report
Diane Benson gave the treasurer’s report which showed a balance of $15,388.33. Income included: Corner Books, a 6 week profit of $1942.25; the EFS grant, $6500; sponsorship and tickets for the Spring Breakfast, $1450.00. Shirley moved the treasurer’s report be accepted, Nancy seconded and the motion carried.
Book Sale, April 1 & 2
The sale will be set up behind the Information desk on Friday night, March 31, after the Library closes. Volunteers need to arrive before the doors are locked at 5:00 p.m. Volunteers are still needed for the last shift Saturday and first shift Sunday.
Culvers Night, April 17
Runners are still needed to work at least one hour.
General Meeting, April 21
After an abbreviated meeting, Kathleen Carr will give a presentation on “Flowers that Attract Butterflies, Hummingbirds and Pollinators.
National Library Worker’s Day, April 11
The Friends will provide lunch for the staff in appreciation for its continued support of the Friends.
Breakfast Fundraiser, May 17
Flyers are available for distribution. The number of attendees will be limited to 140. Tickets go on sale April 1.
Growing Green Days, May 19-21
Friends will earn 10% of the sales at The Growing Scene on these three days. A Friends certificate is required.
Award Winning Minilinks, August 4
Anyone interested in serving on the Minilinks Committee should contact Pam or Genevieve
Connie moved that the meeting adjourn, Nancy seconded, the motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 11:35 p.m.
