HAPLD FRIENDS FOUNDATION
General Meeting – November 20, 2015
The meeting was held in the Program Room of the Library. Those in attendance:
Pat Cornwell, Janet Gorguis, Marilyn Graunke, Nancy Hardy, Karen Hutchings, Pamela Kampwerth, Stevie Massei, Jackie Pollack, Leigh Ann Porsch, Janis Ruffino, Martha Schooley, Mary Ann Schoper, Judy Schrader, Bert Stohs and Reta Stohs
In the absence of the President, Pamela Kampwerth called the meeting to order at 11:08.
Directors Report – Leigh Ann Porsch reported that because of safety and building capacity limits, the Library’s A Very Merry Huntley on Friday, December 4, will be a ticketed event this year. Tickets can be picked up ahead of time at the Library. The festivities will include pictures with Santa, face painting, light refreshments, and a Friends Book Sale. A wall has been put up near the Circulation Area to help alleviate cold weather and wind problems. Plans are being made for an Artists Gallery.
Secretary’s Report – The October minutes were reviewed. Nancy H. moved to accept the minutes. Pat C. seconded. Motion Carried.
Treasurer’s Report – Pamela gave the treasurer’s report which showed a balance of $23,527.99 as of November 18. We should be able to donate close to $25,000 to the Library at the Friends Holiday Lunch in December. It was noted that Corner Book Sales are down. Karen Hutchings moved to accept the treasurer’s report. Martha Schooley seconded. Motion Carried.
Very Merry Huntley – Will take place on Friday, December 4 at the Library. As noted earlier, this will be a ticketed event. Volunteers are needed to work this event.
Book Sales – Reta reported that the November sale brought in approximately $500. Volunteers are needed to work the book sale the first week in December.
Staff Thank You Breakfast – Took place on November 18. Leigh Ann mentioned how much the Staff appreciates this event and thanked the Friends for providing the good food.
Ornaments will be on sale for the discounted price of $10 Friday only during the Very Merry Huntley at the Library.
Holiday Baskets – Baskets go on sale today! You may pick up raffle tickets to sell to friends. Drawing will be December 16.
Giving Tuesday – Our 501(c)3 is associated with the National Day of Giving, Tuesday, December 1. A mailing will go out to all Friends and other donors.
Holiday Luncheon – Will take place on December 18 at Boulder Ridge Country Club. Invitations will be mailed soon.
Library Lovers Committee will be forming soon. Let Pamela or Genevieve know if you are interested.
