Highlights from Annual Board Strategic Plan Meeting
Genevieve reviewed the high points of the Board’s Strategic Plan Meeting when the past year was reviewed and thoughts about the future were discussed.
Coming year projects:
• Continue to expand membership
• Continue to increase fundraising, explore other avenues of fundraising
• Embrace the use of technology: i.e. purchase devices to enable the use of credit cards by clients at Book Sales, Fall Fest, Corner Books, Raffle tickets, etc.
• Have short programs at some General meetings
The Winter Reading program enrollment is up 46%. The Board and library staff are giving input for the Library’s Strategic Plan. The plan will be different from past plans in that it will not be a list of goals but a vision of what the library should be:
• Retooling the staff, improve their digital skills
• Using space better, recognizing there will not be a referendum
o Opening up space
o Reducing the footprint of the print collection
o Cutting the DVD and CD collections, more people are streaming
o Add meeting areas
The January minutes were reviewed. After correcting the spelling of Genevieve’s name, Nancy moved the minutes be accepted, Mary Ann seconded, the motion carried.
Diane Benson gave the treasurer’s report which showed a balance of $4279.29. The largest income for January was from Corner Book sales. The EFS Grant has been received and will show on February’s report. Reta moved the report be accepted, Martha seconded, the motion carried.
