Meeting Minutes – December 21, 2018

HAPLD FRIENDS FOUNDATION
General Meeting         December 21, 2018

The HAPLD Friends Foundation members met in the Library.

Those in attendance were: Diane Benson, Darcy Chadwick, Sandy Cooper, Connie Corwin, Pat Darow, Carol David, Deanna Engelke, Marilyn Graunke, Nancy Hardy, Genevieve Hochwarter, Karen Hutchings, Stevie Massei, Shirley Nowak, Janis Ruffino, Marge Smith, Martha Schooley, Pat Totman, Kathleen Wulf; Pamela Kampwerth, Head of Circulation and Outreach Services.

At 11:08 a.m. President Genevieve Hochwarter called the meeting to order. 

Secretary’s report
Diane Benson moved the November minutes be accepted, Connie Corwin seconded, the motion passed. 

Treasurer’s report
The November treasurer’s report showed a balance of $31,605.77. The Fall Fest Committee donated $1000.00 and EFS gave another check for $1500.00. More funds will be deposited before the end of the year. A check for $26,500 will be given to the Library. A larger sum is being kept this year, $8000.00, for the Friends to use in supporting the referendum. Connie Corwin moved the treasurer’s report be accepted, Marilyn Graunke seconded, the motion passed. 

Annual Plea/Giving Tuesday update
Over $4000.00 has been received and donations are still coming in.

Holiday Baskets
Over $3700.00 has been received for the Holiday Baskets. Raffle ticket sales at the Very Merry Huntley open house totaled $800.00. Winning tickets were drawn after the meeting.

December Book Sale and Very Merry Huntley
The Book Sale raised just over $1000.00. 

January General Meeting
The next General meeting is January 18th. Thom Palmer from the Huntley Park District will be the guest speaker.

Library Lovers Fundraising in February
During the month of February Lego bricks, windows and doors will be available for donations. The Legos will be used to “build a new library”.

Building Program Volunteer help needed
Host a Coffee or Tea
The library welcomes the opportunity to visit with your friends and neighbors to answer questions and gather feedback.

Citizens Committee for Huntley Library Expansion
Be part of the Committee promoting the “Vote Yes” campaign.

Huntley Business Expo, March 2
The Friends will have a booth to promote the building projects and encourage people to vote “Yes”.

 Martha Schooley moved the meeting adjourn, Kathleen Wulf seconded, the meeting adjourned at 11:30 a.m.

Check was given to the Library. Raffle tickets were drawn. Members photos were taken in front of the Baskets. Tickets were counted.
