HAPLD FRIENDS FOUNDATION
General Meeting              March 15, 2019

The HAPLD Friends Foundation members met in the Library Program room.

Director’s Report
At 11:05 a.m. Pamela Kampwerth introduced Frank Novak’s Building Program presentation.

At 11:44, Genevieve Hockwarter called the regular meeting to order.

Secretary’s report
Connie Corwin moved the February minutes be accepted, Reta Stohs seconded, the motion passed.

Treasurer’s report
The February treasurer’s report showed a balance of $16,449.35. Reta Stohs moved the treasurer’s report be accepted, Pat Cornwell seconded, the motion passed.

April General Meeting
The next General meeting on April 19th will feature Kathleen Carr from the Growing Scene, Inc. A Green Growing fundraiser will be in May.

Library Lovers Fundraising
The Library Lovers Fundraiser of creating a library from Legos will continue until April 2. To date, the Lego event has earned $1138.00

Building Program, Citizens for Library Yes
Nancy Hardy reported on the progress of the Citizens for Library Yes Committee. Meetings are held in each Tuesday at the American Community Bank. Yard signs, palm cards, buttons, car magnets and pens are still available. Volunteers are needed for canvassing neighborhoods, leaving informational palm cards on door handles. Those with car magnets/signs are encouraged to park outside April 1 & 2. Early voting is March 18th – March 30th for McHenry County and March 25th – March 28th for Kane County. There is still time to host a coffee or tea in members’ homes with Leigh Ann Porsch.

Culver’s Fundraiser, Recap
A total of $643.61 was earned at the latest Culver’s fundraiser: $145.35 in tips, $153.00 in 50/50 raffle, and $345.61 in percentage of sales. 16 volunteers worked for a total of 22 hours. The winner of the 50/50 raffle bought Lego bricks with the money.

April Library Book Sale
Volunteers are needed for setup and working the next Book Sale, April 6 & 7. Sign-up sheets were available.

National Library Workers’ Day, April 9
The Friends will provide lunch for the staff in appreciation of their continued support.

Fundraising Breakfast, May 8
Invitations are going out for the May 8 breakfast at Boulder Ridge County Club. Featured presenter R.J. Lindsey will portray R.E. Olds founder of the automobile industry. Tickets go on sale April 1.

 Human Race, April 28
The Friends are registered for the McHenry County Volunteer Center’s Human Race, Sunday, April 28. Supporters can run, walk and/or donate to the Huntley Library Friends Heroes.

Pat Cornwell moved the meeting adjourn, Karen Hutchings seconded, the meeting adjourned at 12:04 p.m.
