HAPLD FRIENDS FOUNDATION
General Meeting September 15, 2023
The HAPLD Friends Foundation members met in Program Room 3 

 Those in attendance:  Tom Bacheller, Diane Becker, Pamela Cardenas, Pat Darrow, Carol David, Deanna Engelke, Karlith Gorka, Nancy Hardy, Dianne Hoerter, Karen Hutchings, Theresa Krueger, Scott Lindsey, Joan Longmire, Faye Marlowe, Michele May, Marsha Natkins, Lonni Oldham, Sharon Peacock, Jo Ann Pfaff, Sandy Portincaso, Janis Riffino, Mary Ann Schopen, Marge Smith, Janice Starr and Staff: Pamela Kampwerth, Head of Programming and Outreach; Nancy Bacheller, Local History Associate 

Pamela Kampwerth called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m. She introduced the speaker, 

 Program
Nancy Bacheller presented a program about the history of the Cornell building. 

 Janis Ruffino conducted the Business meeting. 

Secretary’s Report
Deanne Engelke pointed out that the July minutes should say the Board was ”elected” by acclimation not “nominated”.  Nancy Hardy moved the July minutes be approved as amended, Sandy Portincaso seconded, the motion passed unanimously.  

 Treasurer’s Report 
The treasurer’s report showed a checkbook balance of $41,943.79. CD: $100,391.55.  

 Fundraisers Recaps
Minilinks@thelibrary went well paired with the village’s movie in the park. With Kona Ice’s donation $1,972 was earned.
Million Dollar Friends has raised over $7000 so far. There was a drawing for 2 luncheon tickets. 

Friends Celebration Luncheon
Everyone was encouraged to sign up for the luncheon on October 20 at Boulder Ridge. 

Upcoming Fundraisers—volunteers needed
Fall Fest Book Sale – September 29,30, and October 1
Culver’s Fundraising night—Monday, October 9
Holiday Baskets – November 17 – December 14 

General Meetings
October 20 – Celebration Luncheon, National Friends of Libraries week
November 17 – Turkey Trivia and Basket Preview, free tickets for attendees
December 15 – Holiday Concert; Basket winners announced 

Michele May moved the meeting adjourn, Karen Hutchings seconded, the motion passed unanimously at 11:35 p.m.
