LeighAnn Porsch reported for the Director. Over 3200 patrons were signed up for the Summer Reading Program, 10% more than last year. The total of those who completed the program was 5% greater than last year. The Friends were thanked for their support of the program.
Marge read from the ALA United for Libraries newsletter about Huntley’s award winning Mini-links. Only two Friends groups in the United States were awarded a $1000.00 grant. She also read a note from Karin Thogersen and Anne Kunzen thanking the Friends for funding a youth volunteer party in appreciation for their time supporting the Summer Reading Program. After reviewing the minutes, Pat moved that July’s minutes be accepted, Reta seconded, the motion carried.
Sandy gave the treasurer’s report which showed a balance of $21,042.50. Shirley moved the treasurer’s report be accepted, Connie seconded and the motion carried.
